Fellow Espresso Series 1 — Key Features
Boosted Boiler™ architecture

– A patented boiler system with three independent heating elements rapidly brings water to temperature and maintains tight thermal control throughout brewing and steaming. Series 1 is ready to brew in two minutes or less and stays stable even when switching between shots and milk.

Heated grouphead

– A commercial-style grouphead with a brass core, internal heating element, and integrated water dispersion block. This design maintains temperature stability and distributes water evenly through the puck, improving extraction quality and shot-to-shot consistency.

Precise pressure profiling

– Programmable pressure control adjusts throughout the shot, including controlled pre-infusion. These pressure changes improve extraction, increase sweetness and clarity, and make shots more forgiving of small variations in puck prep.

Intelligent shot feedback

– Built-in shot analysis detects when a shot pulls too fast or too slow and suggests grind adjustments for the next brew. Clear, actionable feedback helps you improve results over time without relying on guesswork.

Guided recipes + manual mode

– On-screen guided recipes walk you through classic espresso drinks step by step, while manual mode gives you direct access to key variables when you want full control. Whether you’re learning or dialing in, the machine adapts to how you like to brew.

FAQs

Please read our FAQs page to find out more.

Does the Fellow Espresso Series 1 ship to the EU and EEA?

Yes. Vellutto ships the Fellow Espresso Series 1 across the EU and EEA with insured carriers. Handling is 1–2 business days, transit 2–7 business days depending on destination.

Is the Fellow Espresso Series 1 a single or dual-boiler machine?

The Series 1 is a single-boiler machine, but it uses Fellow's patented Boosted Boiler architecture: a 200 mL boiler paired with a flow-through thermoblock heater and an independently heated grouphead. The three elements work together so the machine switches between brewing and steaming almost instantly, giving you the practical experience of a dual-boiler at a single-boiler footprint.

How long does the Fellow Series 1 take to heat up?

Under two minutes from a cold start to brew temperature. The thermoblock pre-heats incoming water before it reaches the boiler, and the heated grouphead is already at temperature when you pull your first shot. This is roughly five to ten times faster than traditional E61 prosumer machines, which often need 20 to 30 minutes to stabilise.

What pressure does the Fellow Series 1 brew at?

Up to 9 bars at the puck, the standard for traditional espresso. The Series 1 also lets you program lower pressures and full pressure curves across three extraction phases: pre-infusion, infusion, and ramp-down. Pre-loaded profiles include a classic 9-bar shot, a declining lever-style profile, and a turbo shot for lighter roasts.

What size portafilter does the Fellow Series 1 use?

The Series 1 uses a 58 mm bottomless portafilter, the commercial-standard size. Both the portafilter and the baskets are food-grade stainless steel. Two 18 g double baskets ship in the box: one single-wall basket for dialled-in shots, and one pressurised basket for pre-ground beans or less precise grinders.

How big is the water tank, and where do I refill it?

The Series 1 has a 2-litre removable water tank that fills from the top. Plan for around 60 cm (24 inches) of vertical clearance above the machine so you can lift the tank fully out for refills. Worth checking your kitchen cabinet height before you settle on a spot, since the tank cannot be removed sideways.

What are the Fellow Series 1's dimensions and weight?

The machine measures 438 mm long, 315 mm wide, and 279 mm tall (about 17.24 × 12.4 × 10.98 inches) and weighs 9.84 kg (21.7 lbs). Allow about 546 mm of depth front-to-back with the portafilter installed, and 368 mm of height with the water tank lid open.

Can I program pressure profiles on the Fellow Series 1?

Yes. The Series 1 lets you set pressure, flow rate, and temperature independently for three extraction phases: pre-infusion, infusion, and ramp-down. Custom profiles save directly to the machine via the rotary dial and circular LCD, and they sync to the companion app so you can edit them on your phone or share them with other Series 1 owners.

Does the steam wand have automatic temperature control?

Yes. The temperature-sensing steam wand stops automatically when your milk reaches the target temperature, then purges itself afterward to keep the tip clean. The wand is mounted on a ball hinge for full articulation, and the steam pressure is tuned to build dense microfoam without spitting hot droplets onto your hand.

Does the Fellow Series 1 work with oat milk and other plant-based milks?

Yes. The Series 1 has dedicated steaming profiles for plant-based milks alongside dairy, with steam pressure and target temperature tuned for each milk's protein and fat content. Oat, soy, and almond milks all texture to silky microfoam without scorching, which is the failure mode most home machines run into with alt milks.

Does the Fellow Series 1 have an app?

Yes. The Fellow companion app runs on iOS and Android. You can upload custom profiles, download profiles from Fellow Drops roasters and other Series 1 owners, and sync settings between your phone and the machine. Firmware updates also run through the app, and Fellow has been pushing regular improvements since the launch.

Does the Fellow Series 1 come with a built-in grinder?

No. The Series 1 is a brewing-only machine. You will need a separate espresso grinder capable of dosing 18 g into a 58 mm basket with a fine, repeatable grind. Fellow's own Opus or Ode are common pairings, but any quality stepless burr grinder will let the Series 1 perform to its potential.

Is the Fellow Series 1 suitable for beginners?

Yes. Guided on-screen recipes walk you through espresso, lattes, and cappuccinos step by step, and three dedicated buttons (brew, steam, hot water) trigger common actions using your last settings without navigating menus. The interface is approachable from day one, and the manual mode and pressure profiling are there when you want to grow into them.

Is the Fellow Espresso Series 1 BPA and PFAS-free?

Yes, fully. The water tank is BPA-free plastic, the water lines are high-strength reinforced silicone (no Teflon anywhere in the machine), and no aluminium touches the water path. The dispersion block and steam tip are PPS, the hot water exit is SUS304 stainless steel, and the portafilter and baskets are food-grade stainless steel.

What's included in the box with the Fellow Series 1?

You get the machine, a 58 mm bottomless portafilter, a tamper, a 10 oz stainless steel steaming pitcher, an 18 g single-wall double basket, an 18 g pressurised double basket, a shot splitter attachment, a backflush disc, backflush tablets, descaler, a steam wand tip cleaner, and a water hardness test strip. Everything you need to start pulling shots is in the box.

What's the warranty on the Fellow Series 1?

Every Series 1 ships with a 2-year standard warranty. Fellow also offers extended 3-year and 5-year warranty plans, available for purchase within 90 days of receiving your machine. Registering your Series 1 with Fellow keeps the warranty active and unlocks a few owner perks alongside it.

When will the Fellow Series 1 be available in Europe?

Fellow has confirmed European availability from June 2026, with pre-orders open through authorised European distributors now. Customers who pre-order are placed in a delivery queue and shipped from the first European inventory as soon as it lands. The European model uses 230 V mains power, so no voltage converter is needed.
